Mexico's Annual Inflation Slows, Opening Space for New Rate Cut
Mexico's annual inflation slowed more than expected in early July, supporting the central bank's decision to leave the door open to further easing after last month's interest rate cut.
Annual inflation eased to 3.55%, below the 3.61% median estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg and under the prior figure of 4.13%, the national statistics institute reported Thursday. The core reading, which excludes volatile items such as food and fuel, ticked down to 4.25% from 4.28% in late June.
